Vitamin D, or the ‘sun vitamin’, is an essential nutrient to help with immune function, cardiovascular health, cell growth, and to reduce inflammation. The sun is one of the most familiar and easy ways of getting Vitamin D. But, depending on certain factors in your life, there is a good chance that you are deficient in this vital vitamin. These factors include:

  • You have darker skin
  • You are over the age of 50 years old
  • You live in a place where there is increased darkness

Signs of Vitamin D deficiency may include:

  • Decreased immunity
  • Fatigue
  • Problems with digestion
  • High blood pressure
  • Psoriasis
  • Bone pain
  • Weight gain

If any of these signs and symptoms are present, you may want to have them checked out by your physician.
